The Coral Cave and Onibi by Atelier Sentô

I don't remember how or why I first learned about the Coral Cave, but I think it was at least a year or two ago. The Coral Cave is a videogame done entirely in watercolours. I thought it was interesting and really liked the art, but since I'm not into gaming I gave it little thought other than I wished it would be a comic.

A little closer to the present day, I started following Atelier Sentô on Facebook. Atelier Sentô will publish a book called Onibi ("Onibi is a 128 pages graphic novel inspired by our travels in Japan"). This was because I was following Mark Morse (artist of the Narrow Road), and Mark was following Atelier Sentô.... are you following this?

As it turns out, Atelier Sentô is responsible for the Coral Cave.... so it was kind of like I was "there and back again" ... As it also turns out Atelier Sentô has a web shop, and guess what, the Coral Cave now has a stand-alone mini comic (which I've just ordered). This morning I received a confirmation email regarding my order, and there was a link to something interesting... a soundtrack to go with the comic.
Your minicomic was shipped this afternoon. We hope you'll receive it very soon.
You may already know it but we made a free original soundtrack to be listened while reading The Coral Cave - An Irabucha’s Dream minicomic : http://ateliersento.bandcamp.com/album/ ... chas-dream
I thought this was neat, especially since we've had a discussion here on the Dojo about what music would go well with Usagai Yojimbo. Maybe one day Stan will put together a soundtrack to go along with a story.

Back to Atelier Sentô and Onibi - I've preordered the book, even though it will only be published in French. I was attracted to the art, as well as the subject matter:
Through our work we would like to show an unusual side of Japan, made up of small villages in the mountains, festivals, forgotten spirits
Because of all this, I wanted to have this book. It should arrive sometime in October.

I ordered the mini comic of the Coral Cave and it arrived today, from France...

It includes an original watercolor sketch on the inside cover...

I pre-ordered Onibi, and can't wait for it, even though it'll be in French.

Won't that make the screen a bit messy...?

Looks interesting - the comic, the game, the music, lino prints, everything - I'm convinced. Onibi too. It can fit on the shelf with the other french-language albums I can't understand. :)

It looks cool! Bot the comics and the video game.
Let us know how the game is, once you have tested it.

If you need, I can do a quick fan-made translation in english.
Don't expect something professional, but it should be enough to understand the story.
(I just need to find a copy of the book)
