From the pages of history comes the legend of the Samurai Jubei and the book he was pledged to protect. Now that book has been stolen and Jubei must retrieve it before Japan descends into bloody civil war.

It refers to Jubei Yagyu.

Cpm licensed in usa,I have the spanish version that is Cronicas del viento,that was licensed by ivrea an argentinian editorial that is also now in spain.
The name in japenes is Kaze no SHo.It is a one shot about 240 pages.

It is highly recommended,if you like things like lone wolf,satsuma,vagabond.

The writer is kan furuyama and the artist is jiro taniguchi.Kan furuyama it is not as popular as koike or inoue,but he has done an excelent job here,but the really thing the really thing of this manga is the art,JIRO TANIGUCHI IS FUKING INCREDIBLE...he is a huge fan of takao saito and hiroshi hirata,here it seems more to the hirata art.

mmmm now thinking what i have write,i have to learn more words in order to explain a bit more about this manga,my english sucks so much that i really dont find some words from spanish to translate them to english..

mmmmmmmm sorry to post another time..

i forgot to tell something that is very important.

In the spanish version of this manga,the people of Ivrea editorial decided to put before you read the manga,they put information about the two periods which the story of the manga is situated(is this the correct word to put??)..and when you finish,the also put some extra info about who is jubei yagyu and some things explaining about weapons and clothes..

why did the put that information before you read the manga,in order you to know more about the period and to understand really what is happening!!!

The CPM Manga edition contains a "Who's who" and a "What's What" section at the beginning, as well as a brief history of the Yagyu family. This stuff was writen by the translator Mayumi Kobayashi, who wrote "....in the hopes the information will pique the interests of the readers to investigate further and discover the real Yagyu Jubei."

At the end of the book, there are afterwards by both Kan Furuyama and Jiro Taniguchi which contain their thoughts on the book. Following this, there is a brief biography of the artist and writer.

The search engine for this forum can be quite inconvenient sometimes, depending on what the search topic is. I used "Taniguchi" to find the thread.

I finally found the Japanese version of Hiroshi Hirata's name (平田 弘史) and ran a google search with that and found some interesting pages. I also found cover images of a bunch of his books besides the easily found Satsuma Gishiden. I am still not sure which one was the Miyamoto Musashi book.

(Please remember that Usagi Yojimbo is an all ages title and that there might be younger aged fans reading and contributing to the forum here. I know it is difficult to find words which can substitute for F*#K and still express the combination of respect and enthusiasm for the item described, but the effort is really appreciated. When used with another descriptive word (like amazing), the sentence still retains it's meaning if the F*#K is deleted.)
