General discussion (non-Usagi Yojimbo related) about all things Japan -- Feudal Japan, Samurai, Ninjas, Anime & Manga, Chambara films, Japanese Pop Culture, Otaku, martial arts, history, sushi, giant robots, Godzilla... anything Japan-related!

All three of those films are great. "Zatoichi meets Yojimbo" was the ultimate in superstar status actors sharing a movie, Toshiro Mifune's and Shintaro Katsu's characters just had to meet. "Incident at Blood Pass" was a great team-up of Mifune and Katsu as well.
"Kill!" is probably one of the best samurai movie I've seen, and the fact that it is based on the same story as Kurosawa and Mifune's film Sanjuro makes it even neater. And it also really reminded me of some of those spaghetti westerns I used to watch when I was younger.
Robert, If you have not seen it yet, find yourself a copy of "Three Outlaw Samurai", you won't be sorry.
I, too, became interested in samurai films and liturature from reading Usagi Yojimbo. Growing up in Michigan, I was never exposed to any Japanese films, I guess there was not (and still isn't) a large enough Japanese-American community in this part of the state. Maybe in Detroit.
