Samurai Assassin starred Toshiro Mifune who plays a ronin involved in the political struggles just prior to the Meiji restoration. It is also available from Animeigo. There is a very ironic twist of fate at the vary end. Good movie!

Shogun's Assassin is the film which was edited together from parts of the first two Lone Wolf and Cub / Babycart films starring Wakayama Tomisburo (kind of scary that I can spell his name without looking anymore  ) and dubbed into English, released by Animiego (who also released the original six films of the Lone Wolf / Babycart series). I am not sure if the second and third Shogun's Assassin films are also composites of the remaining four original films.

Yeah, I just got the first book to "Lone Wolf and Cub." Very interesting! Will hunt for the movies. Believe it or not, my Wal-Mart in rural Tennessee actually stocked the movie at one time. They also had the SATam Sonic the Hedgehog I wished I had money for at the time, and they also started to collect "Hellsing." But bible thumpers reign supreme in these parts, so any of them anti-christ/death stuff they usually make a fuss about.
