Departures

Post by Andy »

I don't know if anyone has posted about this, but I just saw the most amazing Japanese movie called "Departures". The cinematography was a work of art, and there were several points in the movie that I was moved to tears. I highly recommend it.

If you have Netflix, you can watch this movie on Netflix Instant:

I haven't seen it yet, but one thing about it that's a big plus for me is that the great Joe Hisaishi composed the score.
"It doesn't matter whom you are paired against;
your opponent is always yourself."

Cello

Post by go »

Dear Readers,
Currently my wife is learning the cello so we watched Departures.
She really enjoyed it and is now working on playing the theme.
Best wishes to all!

Wow, that's great! I'm sure it was coincidence, but parts of the theme reminded me of "O Danny Boy".
