DIY Waraji

The link below will get you to an acrobat file that shows how to make waraji sandals. They are available for sale, and if you've got the money, go nuts. I just finished making two pair, for $4 worth of rope and $3 worth of raffia (not a lot of rice straw here on the steppes), and they're really comfy once you get used to your toes hanging over the edge a bit. That's Canadian dollars, too.
