Monster movies

Im a big fan of Godzilla and other giant monster movies but I was wondering what some of your favorite giant monster movies are. Any in particular i should rent or buy?

I grew up with all those giant monster movies, from the Giant Gila Monster to Tarantula to Godzilla (he was in a couple of UY issues) to Gorgo.
The original King Kong still has not been beaten.
Two of my favorite giant bug movies are Them! (of course) and The Black Scorpion (even though some of the matte shots look transparent).

"Are you a god-zilla?"-Usagi. Yes i liked that one. King Kong is a classic of course, its one of my favorite movies. And I know its a shame, but i havn't seen them! even though its been reccomended to me a few times.

I recently watched Ghirodah: The Three-Headed Monster and Invasion of Astromonster (aka Godzilla vs. Monster Zero) recently, both of those are fun monster movies. Ghidorah is one of my favorite movie monsters; I especially love those weird sounds that he makes and the way that the heads twitch around like downed power lines (an apt comparison derived from a commentary on one of the DVDs).
Even though he has a few duds on his resume, monster movies directed by Ishiro Honda are usually worth seeing. Even though it's a considerably darker, less "fun" monster movie, 1954's Gojira is, of course, a must see kaijyu film.
If you want to see good kaijyu movies that are a little more recent, Shusuke Kaneko's 1990s Gamera trilogy is a lot of fun even if the the third film has a surprisingly bleak ending. I don't like most of the 90s/2000s Godzilla movies very much, but I thought Kaneko's GMK: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack was pretty good.
Of course, my avatar comes from the Ultraman-knockoff character in Godzilla Vs. Megalon, an all-around pretty lackluster Godzilla movie (to be fair, the makers of the films were forced with work with fairly small budgets by the 1970s), but it can still be entertaining if you're in the right mood. The movie was entertainingly riffed on by the Mystery Science Theater 3000 crew years ago:

I have a CD of music from Godzilla movies from 1954-1975, and I find myself listening to the wacky Riichiro Manabe music from Godzilla Vs. Megalon pretty regularly. I should probably try to make some kind of remix or mashup with it, but I'm a little too busy with other things at the moment.

I'm a big Godzilla fan myself, but also like Daikaijû Gamera and Giant Robo. I also thought War of the Gargantuas was kinda neat.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what JJ Abrams has in store for us next January (Cloverfield). That last (US) Godzilla remake was horrible.

I have a lot of draw to Godzilla, because i like the reptile monsters, and he breathes fire.

Yah i hardly know what its about and i cant wait to see it. Another monster movie that is supposed to be good is a bit newer, its called The Host, i havn't seen it but i'm told it's good.
