The book
The Best Japanese Science Fiction Stories actually includes a short story entitled "Legend of the Paper Spaceship." It's a pretty good book BTW, worth picking up if you like SF short stories. I would like to read some more works by these writers, but unfortunately, very little Japanese SF literature (other than manga) gets translated.
