One thing that makes Mizuki's longevity as an artist especially remarkable is that he lost his dominant arm while he was in the Japanese army during World War II and had to train himself to draw with the other one (I remember watching a documentary about Frank Frazetta that discussed how he trained himself to draw with his left arm after losing the ability to draw with his right arm due to a stroke in which someone said that that's an unusual thing to be able to do).
