GeGeGe No Kitaro creator and Yokai scholar Shigeru Mizuki has died at the age of 93. He will be greatly missed.

He seems to have been quite a character.
I acquired and read a number of his translated works over the past few years, and I really grew to appreciate him as an artist & storyteller, as well as a historian.

I've become a huge fan of his since Drawn and Quarterly started releasing his work for us Americans a few years ago. I was saddened deeply by his passing, because despite his advanced age I assumed (as anyone would after seeing a few videos of him) that he would live forever.
His with his friends, the yokai, now.
