Wow! Great list and resource.

I have only seen around 15 of these.

Guess I have some wonderful viewing ahead of me!

Nice list, I've seen about 13 or 14, plus a few other Ozu films and other great films by directors represented on the list (including everything by Akira Kurosawa except for one or two very obscure movies that he co-directed with someone, had to do a bit of searching on Bittorrent for copies of a couple of lesser-known ones that aren't on DVD). Lots of great stuff to catch up on, I actually do have an unwatched copy of The Yakuza Papers I will watch one of these days, maybe after I finish all of the Zatoichi movies in the Criterion box set.

Good to have this list. I've got Kagemusha on the viewing list for Saturday with some friends. Never seen it before. This list should give us ideas for future movie nights. Thanks for sharing!

I've only seen 8 of these films but 7 in the top 10. I can't believe Tampopo is not included. :)

Peace, maka

Kind of surprising since I have a lot of Japanese films on DVD, but I have only seen eight of the films on this list. I do have a ninth one which I have not yet seen.

Interesting list.
I'll try to pick some of these movies. So far, I have only seen one of them. I'll try to quickly change that.
