Food Time - Kyle Style!

I got a nice little Japanese snack package a few weeks back from a kind dojo member. Although I've had it for a few weeks, I've been so busy with work that I haven't had time to dig into it until now, as I wanted to post pictures before I ate it all. So here's what I got:
I might have a slight weakness for gummy candy and may have eaten all the grape gummies before taking a picture. Oops!

They were certainly tasty. The rest of the items, however, I'll be sure to review as I eat them.

Oooooo! Got to love the Pocky! My family and I ate a ton of those over the years when we lived in Korea. So yummy!

I'm curious to hear about the green tea cream Pocky. That looks interesting.

With all the traveling I've been doing for work lately, I haven't had time to eat and review my food items. I'd always be eyeing the box of goodies, but wanted to make sure I only ate them when I could also post about them. Today, I had that time.
The first thing I selected to eat were some heart-shaped, puffed vegetable chips. These are quite similar to the Trader Joe's puffed vegetable fries in flavor and texture. They're nice and lightweight and definitely have a vegetable taste to them, feeling healthier than the oil fried potato chips I'm used to. I also tend to find a lot of chips to be too salty, but these had just the right amount of salt, enough to give them some taste but not so much that I needed to chug a ton of water to wash them down.
I like them and think the illustrated vegetable characters on the bag are hilarious. I look forward to trying out some of the other items in this box o' snacks!

Glad you're enjoying them!
I think the same company (Calbee) makes the Trader Joe's snacks (at least I know TJ used to have some Calbee treats). I don't eat a lot of these veggie treats, but I do like the Calbee Snapea Crisps.
That is one thing I really like about most Japanese snacks in general... they are not as salty, or sweet, or greasy as American snacks.
This is especially true for desserts and pastries. Cakes are tasty, but not too sweet. These days I'll only buy cake from a Japanese, Korean or Taiwanese bakery.
Oh yeah, and Japanese mascots are always cute!
Kawaii!
