What's the way to go about learning Japanese?

Should I study Hirgana, Kitakana, or Kanji first.

How do I approach Kanji? Like in what order

I hear you memorize it by the stroke, but why?

Do the strokes mean anything?

Are the same strokes in similarly-meaning words?

Since I have mostly failed in this endeavor on my own, I would honestly suggest taking a language class.
