I got this one from Stan last weekend in Baltimore. The other character is Momo from the cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender. Ordinarily, he's a regular bat-winged lemur and the pet of Avatar Aang, the main character of the show. But in one episode, Aang hallucinates that Momo and his sky bison Appa are anthropomorphic samurai. In the art book published by Dark Horse, the designers confirmed that Samurai Momo's look was an homage to Miyamoto Usagi.

I collect sketches of ATLA characters as well as Usagi so it was a good opportunity get one where the collections converge.

I just started watching Avatar this year with my daughters. It is an excellent show. I love your newest Sakai piece and I loved learning that it was a homage to Usagi. Thanks for sharing. Peace, maka

I picked up this piece from the Baltimore Comic-Con 2017's annual art auction. It was featured in their yearbook, the theme of which was Todd Dezago & Mike Wieringo's Tellos.
