A Couple Of Usagi Questions

Post by chickrockguitar »

Hey guys.
I have a couple of questions. Maybe you can help?

Question #1: I've read somewhere that Stan gives us Tomoe's Origin, in one of the colour specials, can anyone tell me which one? Also, has it been printed in the TPBs yet? I've read up to #12 and havn't seen it yet.

Question #2: Anyone know how old Lord Noriyuki is? And what is the correct way to prenounce "Noriyuki"? Oo, also, Stan, is Noriyuki based on Japan's young emporor at that start of (I think it was) the Meiji era, at all?

Thanks for your time everyone.

"no-ree-YOU-kee"

This was taken from an old Usagi Yojimbo pronunciation sheet.

Tomoe's origin was in Colour Special number one, IIRC...

I'm not sure how old Noriuki is...I'd say 10 or 11.

Tomoe's Story in UY Color Special #1 has not been reprinted yet. Stan says he plans on integrating it into UY continuity one of these days.

Tomoe's Story will be reprinted in UY Book 22: Tomoe's Story.

Noriyuki is 10 or 11. Lords have ruled at much younger ages, with the help of advisors and regents.

Both parents are dead, killed during the rebellion.

Regents ruled while Noriyuki was younger, but now he has formally assumed leadership of the Geishu Clan.

The first one - Color Special #1

The second one is the Summer Special, which reprinted the stories which were originally published in Albedo, along with a new story. It was the first comic to feature Usagi Yojimbo as the title of the comic.

Abayo....
