Mirage back issues

Post by Tim »

I was hoping that somebody here in the forum has bought Usagi back issues through Mirage at http://www.ninjaturtles.com/order/catusagi.htm and can tell me if they are first printings.

As my earlier post said, I'm on a rampage to complete my collection. I've searched the back issue boxes at my local stores long enough! RRRYYYAAAAAAAHHH! :x

I can't swear to it, but I believe all the issues from Mirage series were only released as first printings, except for the first couple issues, maybe, which guest starred the TMNT (the three issues which are sold out :D ).

That would also be my understanding.
I don't think any of the Usagi issues were reprinted, although they have been collected into Stan's trade paperbacks.

The Mirage Publishing and Dark Horse comics are all first printings.

I believe the only UY comic that went into multiple printing was issue 9 (?) of the Fantagraphics run which had Leonardo of the TMNT on the cover, and Peter Laird did a back-up story.

Almost all the trade collections, however, have gone into multiple printings.

I'm sure I've had a second printing of the very first issue in my hands, but could be mistaken.

Thanks so much for all the info, everybody! You've all been so much help. But what else could I have expected? Everybody knows that Usagi fans are the best!

By the way, Mayhem, I love the Yoda quote. Whenever I'm coaching or teaching, I always use it.

You're right. The first issue of the Fantagraphics run did have a second printing. It is easily distinguished from the first printing because it is a shade redder at the top.

UY Color Special #1 might qualify too, with a 2000-issue limited "Special Edition" run that had a 50 cent higher cover price and a heavier stock cover.

Q: Which color editions (and other specials) exist? I have only DH Color special "Green Persimmon", and would like to collect others!

The DH one is the last (of 4) "color specials". So you've got three others to find, which shouldn't be that hard online to do.

Is a fairly complete list, up until DH issue 57 or so...in need of major updating!
