CAPS auction?

Post by CrimzDaReaper »

Hey everyone I saw the auction for CAPS. I don't care much for original prints but I do care for Stan. Any chance I could just donate? Or that we here on the dojo can do a fundraiser? Stan and Sharon deserve this.

Here's a page with a direct link to paypal Stan family without the auction:

http://garageartstudio.blogspot.com/201 ... sakai.html

This might work too: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/websc ... 1ab7e9fe63

Question; can anyone be open to donating art for the auction, or do you have to be a member of CAPS in order to do so? I wouldn't mind donating some art pieces in order to help Stan and Sharon.

I haven't been having much luck with the links so far. Seems to be some issues with either Paypal or the recipient.... :(

Maichan,
Try going to this website. There is a paypal button on this site. It worked for me.

Midoribara, try contact CAPS president Pat McGreal at (310) 365-8457 and patmcgrael@gmail.com. I'll try too and let you know what he says.

Thanks Maka, but I've been trying that one, but I keep getting this:
This recipient is currently unable to receive money.
They have a notice on their page:
UPDATE! Due to the huge response to this from you guys, Paypal is having issues right now. It's being resolved. We'll let you know as soon as it's working again. Thanks so much for your help.
Hope they get it fixed soon.

I suspect the "issues" might be a security flag for receiving so many payments in a short space of time... wouldn't put it past Paypal.

FYI - I email Pat and sent him a picture and links to what I wanted to donate. He wrote back and said he would accept it. So I think write to him and he'll let you know. Thanks for being willing to help. Peace, Maka

I'm glad to see that Mark Evanier is helping to get the word out about this:

I sent George Takei a message on Facebook asking him to share a link, but I don't know if he's seen it or not.

The items I am donating are from some other artist (an Stan Sakai original water color that I won on eBay many years ago. :)). I'm also donating the Usagi Yojimbo statues sets (two from Dark Horse and the RokuToys sets I & II). I'm grateful that these donations can help Sharon and Stan get a little extra financial support.

I'm sure you can donate your art. I loved your mock cover your did for the sketchbook fundraiser you proposed.

Peace, maka

I think this piece by Greg Pak might be my favorite CAPS auction contribution so far:

Quick confession: I think I went though a brief period in high school of wearing jackets that way after seeing Kurosawa's Yojimbo. :D
