Sakai TMNT Hero Initiative Cover

Post by Spam Musubi #7 »

Hero Initiative finally posted Stan Sakai's amazing Cover on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/302050150660?afsrc=1&rmvSB=true

The bidding is already pretty high. Not sure I'm going to be able to bid on it. Also every time I try to win an auction on ebay I lose to Mayhem. :D.

I won't be bidding for various reasons (including the fact I already managed to win one of the previous covers), so no danger from me here :P

I saw on facebook that the auction had ended and they had a link to the ebay page. I am unable to open ebay at work.

Would someone be so kind as to post the winning bid price? (I never would have made a very good Yoda disciple-I have no patience and cannot bring myself to reconcile to waiting 8 hours until I am home and can check it there!)

And no, I am not thinking that I might have won--I did not bid on it as it was much too rich for my blood last week when I checked on it!

Thanks!

Me and Grusagi were texting about the winning bid this morning. According to Ebay the winning bid was $4349.00  ! Grusagi suspects that the winning bid might be a fake bid. If the true bid was anywhere near $4000 it was waaaay out of my price range. Either way it is a great piece and the money is going to a worthy cause.

Holy Smolies!!! That's a lot of cake!

I hope it is a real bid b/c that would be great for the cause!

THANKS for the update!

We'll wait to see if they pay. Essentially someone put in a huge sitting bid, not expecting to be outbid, but someone did go over it. Staggering.

Has anyone purchased THE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 100 PROJECT HARDCOVER? I only see it for sale on eBay. It never showed up on InStockTrades or Cheap Graphic Novels.

Hardcover version:

From what I've read, the hardcover edition is supposedly only available from Hero Initiative, and it was never distributed through Diamond Previews to comic shops.

Yep. The hardcover version is ONLY available from HI direct, or Graham Cracker Comics. Only the softcover went through DIamond.

I did not know that. Or if I did I forgot. So, did either of you buy the hardcover? What does it look like?

Here's the Graham Cracker link:

I wonder if eBay still takes fees when it is listed as a charity based organization?

I haven't yet, but I will be. My LCS has got the softcover on order anyhow even if I do not.

I ordered mine through Hero Initiative off ebay. I also received a $3,83 refund from them after I had placed the order. Partial refund on shipping cost?
