CAPS has asked that the full images on the UY Face Book page be taken down or edited to show just a portion of the art. They fear it will diminish the "wow factor" of seeing the images in the book if people are too familiar with seeing them beforehand. They also fear it will affect sales of the hardcover book and, justifiably, a potential digital copy of all the art if it is easily available for free elsewhere.

However, I think we can leave these images on this thread in the UY Dojo Board, as it is not open to the general public.

Thank you.

For those not going to Comic-con, I will be doing a signing soon after the Con. And, I do believe they do mail order. I will keep you updated as things firm up.

Besides the Sakai Project, the new UY trade will be out, as well as 47 Ronin and Nilson Groundthumper.

Oh well, I should've known better.

Stan Sakai Usagi Yojimbo piece

As all of you may know, Stan Sakai's wife is battling a serious illness and a tribute book is being put together to assist the Sakai family in their time of need. Above's my humble entry.

Here's an article on the project:

Sakai project Dark Horse link

And another with specifics about the auction itself:

comic book resouces Sakai project

In an industry riddle with bloated egos and underdeveloped skills, Stan Sakai is a happy, quiet man who needs some help, and if any of you are so interested please follow these links and contribute to either donate, compete in an auction or purchase this book when it comes out.

Many thanks,

Ricardo

Maybe this should be posted in Market Place (feel free to move it amazing admins).

The CAPS auction is live: http://www.ebay.com/sch/capsauction/m.h ... 7675.l2562

I donated the TMNT action figures, unless someone else also donated them.

It's great to see the auctions getting bids just a few hours into it.

Enjoy and good luck!

Peace, maka

Thank you for posting the link. I have difficulties to find the auctions in ebay. When I searched for the auctions (yes, I am logged in and did "worldwide search") or used "see all items" I get 0 hits. :?

So, please post it here again, when the next five auctions start. Thanks!

I have been meaning to log on for the longest time to see whats been going on, and I finally had the chance today!. <3 All the work is absolutely amazing! I really look forward to the book. I am in awe over many of the details in many pieces and hope they will do well in the auction!

I would have submitted another, but in the past few months I have become an instant parent as my boyfriend gained full custody of his daughter, so we have been very busy with getting her well off and stable. ( things are way better now)

Again, I hope the auction goes well. :D and that this will really help the Sakai's <3 <3

Trish, that is a cool sketch! Awesome!

Marcel, good luck with your search for the figures. I am very happy these Gen & Usagi toys are raising much more money than I could donate to help Sharon and Stan. What an awesome and generous group of friends, artist, and fans the Sakai's have in this age. So cool.

Peace, maka
