-Usagi After the Battle- Tablet and Photoshop

Post by Amy »

Usagi stands among the rubble. Are you sure you want to disturb him right now?

Trying something new that I hope will look polished, but maintain it's sketchy charm^_^;

Looks very polished, very professional, to me. Draw a couple parallel lines and they look professional to me, considerin' my lack of artistic talent. But seriously, another (of what is bound to be numerous) great piece of art. Just how much of this piece is created on the computer, and what program are you using?

The whole piece was created on my computer. I have a very nice tablet (digital pen) so I can sketch in the computer just like I sketch on a piece of paper^_^ It even looks like a pencil sketch, which is awesome!

(here's the rough sketch, if you're interested)

And I use Photoshop! It's the standard^_^

It looks terrific, a very dramatic piece. I like the variation in line strengths. It's hard to believe you can get that on a computer. I'm very old school where I like the feel of the paper. I have a photoshop program that I haven't even installed yet. Your work makes me want to do some work on the computer.

You actually sketched it with the tablet? I'd have never guessed it. From what I've read, almost every "digital artist" out there just sketches on paper with a pencil and then scans it to clean/ink/color/whatever they need to do with the sketch. That head sketch is a very amazing piece of art if it was entirely done in a computer (and it's also an amazing piece of art even if it was pencil-made ;) .)

Can there be any higher praise?

None that I can think of^_^ I'm just beside myself! I mean, I know it's the fact it's done on a computer that makes it interesting, but I'm still very happy about it^_^

Thank you^_^ Yes, it's true that's usually how digital artists work. And I do that too sometimes, if I have a sketch I want to color in one of my books. But I have gone through so many sketchbooks, I'm almost out of room to store them. So it's nice to be able to draw directly into the computer^_^

Though I do agree with Mr. Sakai; there's just something wonderful about the feeling of paper under your pencil. I think everyone feels that way^_^

Thank you Todd, and Alori, and Mr. Sakai! And everyone who's been so gracious. I'm glad you like the drawing^_^

Stan,

You should try some digital Usagi art, at least for fun. Perhaps we could showcase it as a UY Dojo exclusive....
