You don't need to be registered on Facebook to enter.

I did it from my work computer, where I do not log on to Facebook, and I was able to enter. Just use Maka's link in the first post.

If I click numbers 1-8 it jumps to the top of the screen. Numbers 9-12 are not clickable.

Maybe Safari is blocking it for some reason.

That's possible. I use Chrome. Do you have some pop-up blocker enabled?

Edit - I just tried Firefox, and it works fine there also.

On my mac, it works in safari browser. But I think you can only play on the 24 hours it is introduced. So even though you can go back and submit your name and email for day 7, Sakai day may already be done. I don't know. Doesn't hurt to try.

Also comixology is giving away a free digital comic every day if people are interested: https://www.comixology.com

And digital.darkhorse.com is selling all #1 issues of their 2014 comics for 99 cents each.

But the best deal for digital comics is https://www.humblebundle.com/books . They partner up with comic book companies and distribute a ton of comic and you can name your own price. You just need a comic reader (that reads CBZ files) on your computer (I use "simple comic" in mac app store) or on your smart phone (I use Comic Zeal) or tablet. Every three weeks or so they introduce another deal. So far they offer stuff from Boom Studios, Valiant Entertainment, Oni Press, Dark Horse Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Top Shelf Productions, Dynamite Entertainment, and IDW. Some amazing deals if you just want to read comics.

Peace, maka

I gave up. I could never get passed the black screen with all the numbered boxes.

Which Usagi print were they giving away?

I didn't have block pop-ups enabled. Who knows what the deal was. It's Facebooks way of punishing me for not being a member.

I may be in the minority here, but I just can't get into digital comics. Maybe I'd think differently if I owned a smart phone or some sort of tablet.

I love physical comics. The ability to see the complete page or two pages composition as a whole is wonderful. Physical comics then allow your eyes follow the story and return to an panel whenever it wants with the least amount of resistance. That is the best comic reading experience, in my opinion. As a result, I buy physical copies of Usagi because I want the best experience. I love the public library's graphic novel section because it allows me to explore different comics stories in this format that I could not afford to purchase.

That said, digital comic reading is not a bad experience. The act of reading a digital comic is not as powerful or flexible as physical comics. But it is the most portable, most easy to store, and most accessible if you have a smart phone. Of course the screen size of a smart phone is limiting but not terrible. I'm sure a tablet would be a better experience but I don't own one of those. Reading on my 13" computer screen is a better reading experience but not as portable, so I mostly read digital comics on my phone. Digital allows me to try comic title, especially deals like humblebundle.com, that I never would have dropped $3 or $4 for just one issue. I just read Stumptown and liked it. But it wasn't on my graphic novel list to buy (got it on humblebundle deal). And comixology and digital.darkhorse.com have bundle deals too. I picked up every issue of Hellboy, The Walking Dead, and DHP Vol 3 for %50 - 67% cheaper than cover price. I could get most of Hellboy and the Walking Dead from my local library, but I was at the mercy of the when they were available and could not read them in chronological order, which I prefer.

I started a physical subscription to DHP Vol. 4 because I loved the digital DHP stories so much. And, in a small way, my money spent on digital and physical comics is going to pay the creators and publishers so they can continue to live and create more great comics.

Both physical and digital comics can exist together to bring more comic readers into our hobby / pastime. That's a very good thing. :) Peace, maka
