Multiple covers for Fatagraphics Usagi #1?

Post by Sharpish »

Hello there. I'll start by admitting that I don't know much about comics, but I collected a few Usagi's when I was younger. I came across them recently and found the #1 from 1986. However, the cover is different from the ones I find online. It is not Usagi by himself with the red background. It has a battle scene cover with Usagi, Tomoe Ame and Lord Noriyuki getting ready to fight off some ninjas. Can anyone tell me about this? Is my #1 a reprint or just an alternative cover. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Could be the reprint. I've never actually seen it, I've only ever had first printings in my hand.

It could also be the Usagi Yojimbo Summer Special #1... it was also published by Fantagraphics

Ah, mystery solved there then. I've not got the Summer Special, just the Colour Specials.

(I will soon though, courtesy of the lovely Usagi here sending me a copy!)
