It's a wonderful life
Hello UY fans,
Fun thread.
How about a retelling of "it's a wonderful life." It would probably take more than one issues, but then we can see a whole bunch of characters from Usagi Past. For example Gen would have probably been killed by Zato Ino if Usagi wasn't there to intervene.
Or
How about a King Kong verse Zilla tale? Who doesn't want to see Zilla again?
Or
Usagi is unconscious (sick or a result of a battle) and in his delirium he sees his death and the wake. This would allow old characters to come and pay their respects (even Spot) without killing off Usagi.
Or
Hana-fuda crime for Inspector Ishita to solve. The murderer leaves hanafuda cards in his victims clothes as a clue to why the crime was committed. I think Ishita is my favorite side character.
Or
A reprinting of all the DH covers (in beautiful black and white) in one 100 page Super Comic (with Mr. Sakai's comments). Or how about Dark Horse putting out a Usagi Yojimbo trading card set with guest artist contributing their interpretations to characters.
Peace,
maka

What a great idea. I've been wanting to do something with hanafuda. This is a terrific plot. I'll use it, with your permission of course. I've also got a few other Inspector Ishida mysteries that I want to do as well.Maka wrote:

It would be a honor to have one of my ideas turned into a real UY story. Permission granted.Stan Sakai wrote: I'll use it, with your permission of course.

Well, although I emjoy Ishida stories, I wouldn't like to see UY #100 dedicated to him.
What I'd like to see is that Usagi crosses paths with Sasuké again, and that the "mage" tells him of his discoveries of Inazuma... and thus, a new saga could start: the hunt for Jei!
Did I make sense?

We can fight...
Absolutely. I think a good, healthy portion of USAGI readers have been waiting for the moment when Usagi discovers Inazuma's "affliction" since the last six panels of GRASSCUTTER. If it won't happen in #100, I hope it happens soon after.monsada wrote:Well, although I emjoy Ishida stories, I wouldn't like to see UY #100 dedicated to him.

I've always thought that a story involving Nobunaga Oda would be neat.
I mean, sort of like a dream senquence, perhaps where Usagi is either drugged or comatose, in which he meets the ghost of Nobunaga.
I mean, Nobunaga is probably one of the greatest villians in both history and legend. A powerhungry general who attempted to subdue the populace with an iron fist, and commited the greatest sin of ancient Japan.....he defied the will of the Shogun.
It could be sort of like a dream journey. Usagi meets Nobunaga, and they sort of go through like this weird allegorical, Pilgrim's Progess-like journey in this dreamworld, where we see the evils of war, dishonorable atrocities, and the lust for power. It could be like a cautionary tale about the evils of war.
Of course, that's just my weird moralistic mind at work.

You already have the real Japanesse history in Usagi's worl, you only have to unmask things and change others.
Adachigahara = Sekigahara
even if adachihara had hikiji as a winner and sekigahara had tokugawa (later shogun)
A history about internal political war between Tokugawa and Hideyori would be nice, as it could lead to an interesting comic story, but Usagi's world has some changed things that would make it necesary to change main characters.
Even if it could be used exactly as it happened.
