General discussion about Usagi Yojimbo, the comics, the stories, the characters, collectibles, TV appearances, Stan Sakai, Space Usagi, Nilson & Hermy, and all other related topics.
My enjoyment of Usagi Yojimbo influenced me into trying and liking Lone Wolf and Cub, and subsequentually, Koike and Kojima's other samurai era epics.
Anyways, Lone Goat and Kid have always been near the top of my favorites list for Stan's characters. (Actually, I think "all" of Stan's characters are near the top of my favorites list His characters are just so cool!)
Please put my name on that one when you write your will and divvy up your estate....
Mike is a great guy. I first met him about 15 years ago at a Motor City Comic-con. He was doing Judge Dredd for DC at the time, and he drew a picture of the good judge in my sketchbook.
The last time I really got to hang out with him, was at another Motor City con about 4 or 5 years ago.
Uh I printed it out as Word file and didn't save it. It's basically the Headshot I have in the Stan Sakai section with a note explaining the scar is NOT an eyebrow and then an action pose from the back of some issue.
A lot of times I'll carry along an issue and just hand that over. Sometimes that works out better. If you look at the Steve Lavigne piece he added Demon Mask in the reflection of Usagi's sword because that was in the issue. Very cool.
Just got back from NYCC. Got some really good sketches. Finally filled out my Mirage Studios collection by getting sketches from Jim Lawson and Dan Berger. Even got one from Kevin Eastman who was there with Heavy Metal.

Hey Robert, Good to see you back on the forum, it's been a while.
About the Gen drawing, I wish I could claim credit for it - either as the artist or the owner. That is just one of the many fantastic pieces of Usagi fan Art which Colin has collected from numerous comic conventions and shows, etc. It was drawn by Eric Talbot of Mirage Studio. http://comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.as ... t=0&UCat=0

Just went through the second section (N-Z) and checked out the rest of the new additions. The Gennosuke painting is outstanding! And all you could say about it was "Awwwww yeah!" ?? Let me know if you are ever interested in sellin' this one...
(Colin, Let me know if you want me to remove the image from the forum, but I just could not resist posting it here for everyone to see...)
I was going to get another Eric Talbot piece last weekend but the first day I was lazy and didn't get around to it. On Saturday I forgot my reference sheet in the hotel room and by Sunday he was totally booked. Ah, well. I'm sure I'll catch him again, those Mirage guys have been everywhere lately.
