It is always a pleasure to see that there is still a Chizu fan club ! Chizu Chizu woohoo !estee wrote:What...no sign Chizu?
Stan,
perhaps it is due to a very interesting "Is Usagi happy" topic in the french dojo (because Morgane told me that Usagi often looks annoyed, i will show her this illustration), this illustration is really great and with good karma nevertheless one point is disturbing me: Usagi is smiling, his family and friends are with him, Tomoe looks amorous, everyone looks happy (even Katsuichi's bottle), so why Usagi has his blade at hand ?

I had a couple of other group drawing at San Diego. One was a double page spread that was the endpapers for the UY: Glimpses of Death HC, which was sold to John Higashi. The other was a regular sized drawing (11x17"), that I did to block in the characters for this cover. That drawing, aside it featuring many characters, looks very different. For one thing, they were in a field some waving stalks of grass.Mayhem wrote:Am I right in thinking (great piece btw) that this was actually sitting on Stan's table at Comicon? I swear I've seen it before...

That's great thanks...she is a favourite of mine.Stan Sakai wrote:
Okay, just for you two, I'll bring back Chizu in UY 101.
You know, Stan, while I got your attention, I got some other ideas for Usagi, some are pretty radical, but once you accept the fact that Usagi is working for the CIA it's really fun...
On second thought, maybe I won't push my luck.

That would answer Fanfan's question as to why Usagi is smiling in the company of friends AND holding a sword in the cover art to issue #100.estee wrote:You know, Stan, while I got your attention, I got some other ideas for Usagi, some are pretty radical, but once you accept the fact that Usagi is working for the CIA it's really fun...

Got a news tidbit that Mark Evanier is writing something for Scott Shaw! in UY #100...that's it so far! Stan is uncertain who else is involved. Maybe Sergio?? Wouldn't that be great if Sergio contributed a Catnippon/Usagi story... Now I'm really thinking. What if Diana really went out on a limb, and got someone like Steve Gallacci to contribute. Imagine Steve doing Space Usagi...wild!!! The possibilities for this issue are killing me....

Steve will not be involved with 100. I recently heard that his wife has some health problems, and Steve is taking care of her. That explains why he has been absent from the convention circuit for a while.Todd Shogun wrote:
