Featuring eight extra story pages for a total of thirty-two, Usagi Yojimbo #100 is structured as a good-natured roast of both Usagi and Stan, kicking off with an opening by publisher Mike Richardson and artist Rick Geary before launching into unforgettable contributions from Frank Miller, Jeff Smith, Sergio Aragonés, Guy Davis, Mark Evanier, Scott Shaw, Jamie S. Rich, and Andi Watson-not to mention Stan Sakai himself!

This extra-special issue is the ultimate introduction to the world of the rabbit ronin and his inimitable creator, a perfect entry point for anyone who ever wondered why the adventures of this long-eared hero have been among the most acclaimed all-ages comics for over two decades!

o One of the longest-running, consistent-selling comics ever!

o Eight extra story pages in this issue, with cardstock wraparound cover.
Still pretty mysterious, if you ask me. Is there even a regular in continuity Usagi story in here? No need to answer. I can wait.

That's sort of what I've been wondering, actually. Will #100 be a continuation of the story from #99, or will it be a series of vignettes drawn by each individual artist? (The latter would probably work best, come to think of it.)

Seeing as how #98 looks to be the beginning of Jei's return to the spotlight in UY, it would make sense for #100 to be a "break" between the action in order to properly celebrate all things USAGI YOJIMBO, and then the story would resume with a bang in #101.

I bought it just because Usagi was on the (back) cover, but the solicitation inside doesn't really tell us anything that we don't already know. This isn't much of an Usagi souvenier (which was the entire reason I bought it) :(

Sorry to hear that. At my comic shop you can flip through the Previews without having to buy it. Did they at least tell you how many copies have to be purchased in order to get the poster?

The fact that it featured Usagi on the (back) flip cover made it enough of a souvenier for me, considering it is the first time he has ever appeared on either cover of Previews. Even when Green Persimmon was being serialized in Previews, Usagi never appeared on the cover.

I asked at my local comic shop if they could check, but they had absolutely no information concerning it on wednesday. I am hoping that the 15 copies that they will be ordering will be enough to qualify (I am hoping that the owner receives some new information and increases his order to meet the requirement if it is more than 15 copies.) I added another five copies to my pull list. Unfortunately, if they do get one of the posters, I am in line to get it after all the store employees. :(

I wonder if the Worlds of Westfield catalog will feature the same artwork along with the Stan Sakai interview?

Maybe Dark Horse will provide Stan with a few extra copies of the poster, and he can offer them as prizes for a contest of some sort through the Dojo. Just a shot in the dark idea...

At my local comic shop they give Previews away for free to all their members. That way members can flip through at their leisure and order more stuff. I dont know how many items I have purchased because of that damn book.

As for the free poster, Im going to have a lot of copies of 100 to get that poster since my store only orders 2 copies.

Dear Readers,
Mike, I feel your pain.
My store only orders one copy, mine.
The store owner called Diamond distributors to ask what volume of sales gets a poster and Diamond did not know....
I have been thinking about CGCing my Previews (9.4?)
even though they put the cover on upside down...
Thank you all for the fun!
Best wishes,
go

Guy Davis' pages are hilarious. I did an introduction for it that relates our first meeting--or rather, non-meeting.
