Usagi on display in your house!

Post by MikeM »

I was just curious, but does anyone display their Usagi items proudly in their house, apartment or whatever?

I have all the trades and roleplaying games and Art of Usagi hardcover on my top shelf of my book shelf in my office. On top of the book shelf I have my Usagi action figure (the new one) and the vinyl action figure that I got from Darkhorse.

In my living room I have framed the signed Usagi print (the cover of Art of Usagi) and 2 framed Usagi pieces my friend made me for my birthday.
He took two pics and re-did them. They look great. On the back of the pics it says "these are not Stan Sakai originals. They are knock offs"
Never thought about it before actually, but I hope thats ok. Im not selling them or anything so it should be ok right?

So how do you guys have Usagi displayed.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words....

The contents of my bookshelves has changed a bit since these pictures were taken, with the addition of seven digest size and several more Grand size French editions of Usagi Yojimbo, as well as a number of other foreign editions.

I have another three framed prints on the walls which are not visible in the photos, and at least another four or five prints (at least) still waiting on frames and wall space.

I have some Usagi at home, but I also have Usagi up at work, too!
Although, sadly, with this being the last year for the calendar.
I'll just have to take the Usagi action figure to work, then!

MAN, I love that print with Usagi in armor and all the banners, Steve. Call me jealous...

"We really shook the pillars of heaven, didn't we Wang?"

"No Horse sh%t Jack?"

I have framed and mounted on the wall the original art from Usagi 95, and the sketch Stan made me, which is my avatar.

Very proud of both.

...and Steve...Wow, just wow.

Holy cow Steve! Where did you get the Critters #14 card?

Is the page from "A Quiet Meal" a print? 8) Never seen it.

It is actually a sticker from Schwarzer Turm featuring the cover art from the German Usagi Yojimbo Book 2.

It is a older print, which I believe was published (released ?) by Stan for sale at conventions in the mid 1980's.

I've never seen the sticker before either.

I published the print of page 1 of A Quiet Meal in, I think, 1989 as a black & white and a hand colored editions. I still have a few that I occassional bring down to San Diego whenever I come across them while packing.

I want that statue!

Everytime I go to a con I look for it. Plus other Usagi stuff of course.

Usagi is a pretty large presence in my office/playspace. As you can see in this photo, he's proudly displayed on my most prominant wall.

That's the Emerald City Comicon poster from the 2001 Usagi Anniversary on the left, the original commissioned art that became the cover to the third Usagi Sketchbook in the middle (my favorite piece to display), and a letter of permission from Stan for me to photocopy Usagi for my classroom (along with a sketch) on the right.

I also have every Usagi toy (including a packaged Antarctic Press figure) and two statues (Cold Cast #2 and the soft Dark Horse statue) displayed in various places in the room. I really need to set aside an Usagi shelf for all of these somewhere, but space is tight.
