Going to Spain

Post by Stan Sakai »

This posting is very premature, as the trip will not take place until October, but we're very excited about it.

Sharon and I will be at the Gijon comics festival in Gijon, Spain. It is in the Asturias area of northern Spain. What is even better is that Editor Diana Schutz will also be there. She has been taking Spanish classes, so has been anxious to go there.

This festival gives out the prestigious Haxtur Awards. Diana won an award a few months ago, and it will be presented to her there. She actually beat out the Spanish edition of UY: Grasscutter 2.

Sharon and I hope to make a short side trip to London.

I'll keep you updated as plans are firmed up.

Oh, really? Well, Gijón is a bit far from Madrid, but maybe I could do something for going there. Now this is good news, indeed. :D

I'll be looking forward to seeing new info about this event and let's see if I'll be able to go... mainly because I would go alone.

I have not been to Sweden, but I did go to Norway in September, 1999. I traveled with Sergio Aragones. We had intended to go over the border into Sweden, but decided to return to the US one day early instead. I hope to visit your country one day.

If you do make it over here to London for the day or so Stan, I'd be happy to assist if need be :)

(mainly because I probably won't be able to make SDCC)

Any rough idea when you'll be dropping by London, Stan? I'm currently attending a film course here until late February.

Plans are still very tentative, but we hope to visit London on the way home from Spain. That would be the second half of October, probably a few days during the week of the 22th. But, we've gotten an invitation to visit another country during that week.
