Motor City--what to bring?
It's about a month before the Motor City Con in Michigan. Some of you have already contacted me about reserving artwork, or bringing specific items.
Is there anything special you would like me to bring along?--A specific Fantagraphics issue to complete your run? A trading card? A hard cover edition? A copy of Albedo #2? A piece of commissioned art?
Is so, let me know by posting on this thread, or e-mail me.

ok, I would like you to bring - The piece of original artwork we discussed and and extra copy of the sketchbook #4 with Mayhem's name on it and...
I've been waiting for this thread to ask if you have any copies of the previous sketchbook left. Petersen was telling me about it and I was hoping to get one if possible. That's it for now (unless you have a copy of Travels with Jotaro or Shades of Death kicking around)
Thank you very very much Stan-san - you're a peach
edit: I see you have just posted that you have copies of all the sketchbooks left - albeit very few of #1. I would humbly like to ask if you wouldn't mind bringing me a copy of each - if it's not too much - I know I have a lot of requests for a neophyte.

Holy smokes! I assumed you were kidding.
I got my MCCC tickets in the mail yesterday - very exciting! I also was informed that I don't need to pick up a copy of sketchbook #4 for Mayhem as Steve and Thomas are on it! Cheers guys! So my revised requests are:
The original artwork (eeeeeeeee! so excited) that I absolutely love.
a copy of sketchbook #1 (if possible)
a copy of sketchbook #2
a copy of sketchbook #3
Thanks again Stan-sensei

Stan, are you going to bring some original artwork to sell, or is something we have to request before hand? Im very interested in purchasing some original artwork from you, but Im not sure of the process.
Also, if possible can you bring a copy of the "Duel" print we spoke about earlier?
I'm also interested in the sketchbooks, but if you don't have enough that's cool.
Are you going to have a table selling things, or just a signing table? If you do have items displayed for sale, what kind of things are we looking at? (Im trying to gauge how much money to bring)
Thanks,
MikeM
PS - Anyone that is going, are you going to wear your Usagi Yojimbo Dojo t-shirt?

I have this one http://www.usagiyojimbo.com/dojodecade.html in gray.
The black 'Chop' shirt is awesome. I wouldn't mind getting one of those either. Actually I love getting any Usagi merchandise.

I have no plans to buy another copy of Albedo... One copy is plenty enough for me.MikeM wrote:How about saving one for those of us who can't find one?Steve Hubbell wrote:So, are you serious about the Albedo #2? I guess I really don't need another copy, but....

I was just curious if Stan was actually going to break into his stash of issues finally.

Heritage Source has both Dark Horse released Usagi T-shirts (Usagi with sword & Chop designs) and the Dojo ten anniversary T-shirts listed on their site. Buy several and save on shipping!morna-san wrote:Hi Mike
I would wear an Usagi shirt but I don't have one. The one that appeals to me is the "chop" design - red on black, but I haven't had any luck with the obvious sources.
see you there!

I will certainly be bringing artwork--both con drawings (like on the back covers of the comics), and covers.
I still have enough copies of all the sketchbooks, but may sell out of #1 at San Diego.
I should have a table at Motor City, hopefully near Guy Davis and/or David Petersen. I'll bring trades and whatever fits into my suitcase. If you have any specific trades, comics, etc you are looking for, let me know.

sure - I can do that!
Ok pulling an arbitrary time out of thin air... how's Saturday at 3:00? Just as a starting point - obviously it's entirely mutable! We will have our camera and if all the stars align we might be able to post pictures that night.
Just let me know if this isn't going to work and we can change it until it works for as many as possible.
see you there!
