My French publisher, Editions Paquet, has invited me to a book festival in Lausanne. It takes place at the beginning of September. The last time I was there was four years ago right after the Angouleme Comics Festival. It was February and, literally, freezing. Lausanne is a beautiful city on the shores of Lake Geneva, with wonderful chocolate shops. It is also the home of the International Olympic Museum, one of the best museums I have ever been to.

The only drawback is that I will be off to Spain in mid-October. That means a big deadline crunch in the fall, especially if I make a detour for a few days in London on the way home.

Be sure to pack some warm pull-overs and other thermo-gear; it will not be freezingly cold, but expect temperatures around 5° celsius in the dawning hours; maximum in the early afternoon could be around 20°, on the other hand....

The best strategy would be "The Way of the Onion", I think...

Btw, what about coming to Berlin, maybe, in passing.......? :P

And didn't you say you wanted to travel less this year??
Greetings from overseas

I will take two trips. I am flying alone to Switzerland, but Sharon will accompany me to Spain and London.

Yes, but if the legends are true, you're some kind of god when it comes to punctuality.

Heh... I was actually considering coming to Lausanne this late summer, to meet some friends.

The possibility of meeting Stan Sakai would be another fine bait for moving my sorry BADWORD to Switzerland. :D

I don't know if I will. Perhaps I can arrange something through Dark Horse.

Do you recommend any stores to sign at?

Most obvious one would be the massive Forbidden Planet store on Shaftesbury Avenue in London.
With a breeze comes a storm, but then you'll all be washed away...

Hmm, London, maybe??

If school holidays allow I might be able to go there with my elder daughter....

But Sensei, won't your wife object to a signing/sight-seeing tour?

Maybe I can work out something with the store--such as a signing in exchange for a night's lodging somewhere. I don't think Sharon would object to that. On the other hand she could, depending upon how many days we actually had in London.
