I'd also like a poster and a sketchbook volume 4.
I'll have an Ishida for you. I try to get as many drawings done before the con as possible. I do take commissions there, but my list usually fills up pretty fast. For the most part, if you request a commission, it does not obligate to you purchase it if you do not like it.
I'll set aside a poster for you. I should have lots of copies of all the sketchbooks.

I'm really thrilled about by first SDCC. I hope I can handle the crowds!
You and me both dude! I'm pretty sure my wee Aussie brain may implode!
Yeah, San Diego is quite the event, but you can't beat the smaller cons (like Motor City) for getting to know people. We could not organize a dinner like the one in May at San Diego, especially if you wanted to get Sergio there.
Of course, there was the year that a bunch of us went out to dinner. It used to be a practice that one night during the con, we would get away from it, and just enjoy ourselves. We considered asking Sergio, but figured he already had a dozen invitations. When we got back, he was quite upset, "Where were you guys? I had no one to eat with! I sat in my room and ate an apple!" As the con got larger and restaurants got harder to find, and we had more obligations, and kids, we abandoned that tradition.
Having been to only two cons in my life; SDCC in 2005 and MCCC this year, I'd have to agree that the small cons are the best - especially for actually spending time with people. It was a highlight of the con going out to dinner with everybody.
I'm a bit of a crowd-o-phobe so I'm surprized I actually enjoyed SDCC at all - but it's just so crazy and huge and fun I couldn't help myself. It did start to get a bit much after three days though.
I tend to enjoy the medium sized shows--Heroes Con, Pittsburgh, Baltimore. They are large enough to have a wide enough selection of creators and dealers, but small enough where you can have some time with people as opposed to waiting in line for hours.
I finally decided that I had to give San Diego a shot. I'm either going to love it or be driven crazy by it. We'll see which.
Stan, do you know your table assignment yet for SDCC? Are you going to be with Dark Horse or somewhere else?
Can you give me a ballpark figure of what I should expect to pay for the Ishida that I have requested? Like I said, I've never seen you at a con before and really have no idea--and what forms of payment will your booth take other than cash? (neither of these questions affect my wanting a commission though! )
Do you bring original pages or covers from the book to shows?
And finally, I don't know what you are reading these days, but I will be happy to bring you a stack of some of the stuff Ape is doing if you are interested. Free of charge
Sergio is at his usual booth-- I7, next to Scott Shaw! at I8. Stan is catty-corner across the floor at 4906. Scott Hudlow is at 823 (fairly close to Sergio). I couldn't find Tom Luth anywhere, either as an exhibitor or in Artist Alley.

Thanks!
I'll be at my usual corner booth--4906--way in the Artists & Illustrators section.
These con drawings run about $80 on up, depending upon complexity, number of characters, etc. They are drawn on 11x14 acid free strathmore.
For the most part, I do not sell original pages, but I do sell covers, pin-ups, end-papers, etc. I will have a few of these.
UY 104, the conclusion of the origin of Jei, will be out on the Wednesday of the San Diego Con. I should have copies Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.
