Kill Bill

Post by Tounian »

is absolutely amazing. I suggest everyone go see it. Except for anyone under 17, since I know kids read this site. It is very gory, tons of bad language, but some really amazing fight scenes, samurai style. It may not have that much to do with Usagi, but it is basically a samurai movie with 70's exploitation and anime thrown in for fun. Go see it guys, you will not be disapointed.

What!? It's already out in the States? Having to wait for movies to come out while other people have already seen it sucks  .

Now when does volume 2 get released? In the USA, I mean.

I'm pretty sure that volume 2 comes out the first weekend of Feb, but I don't know about Spain. Check imdb.com, they usually list release dates for all countries, they have a section for it for each movie.

Ah, the triumphant return of the Toho Bloodcannon! I gotta say, the pacing isn't the best, and there's a pile of in-jokes that people who aren't at least familiar with the early '70's Shaw Bros/Samurai/ 'tation might not catch. Caveat auditor, otherwise it's good fun.

Saw it today... thumbs way up!!! Not for the squeemish however, as there is tons of extreme and bloody violence. Personally that's one of the things that made it so great, but that's just me :) The anime was quite the treat as well. Overall... A+ Can't wait for Vol. 2!!!

Yeah, I really liked this film. Some pretty unpleasant bits in it tho.....the gunshot at the start made EVERYONE in the cinema nearly jump out of their seats!

Kill Bill hasn't got a distributor yet in Spain. Even if it got one right now, it would take at least 3 months or so until release (dubbing, blah blah blah). I don't want to download it from the internet because nothing compares to watching a movie in the theater. Watching an awesome film in crappy quality on a tiny screen is just wrong (unless watching the movie becomes painful because of how bad it is).

In other news, this wednesday I saw Matrix Revolutions. If I had to desribe it in one word, I'd choose tachycardia. I had a great time watching it.

Kill Bill / Matrix

Post by Todd Shogun »

Who else saw Matrix Revolutions? Did you like it? I'm going to see it tonight... I liked the first and second, although the second did receive really mixed reviews... as is the 3rd. I keep hearing the 3rd is better than Reloaded so I'm expecting a lot!

it damn well better be an improvement over reloaded, i thought reloaded was terrible, in the story department... the car chase was amazing, but that fight between neo and all the agents got retarded after awhile... just way too long... and unnecessary. and when the two trucks collided, it was such a let down of a scene, cause i knew that neo was gonna be just like superman and fly in to save morpheus and the key maker... i never once worried the characters might not make it... bad story telling... it better end on a good note... tell us how it went todd, i wont be seeing it till at least monday...

Saw it and liked it. I won't give anything away but the movie was more action and sci-fi style battle than anything else. What I like. Story-wise, it was about the same as part 2, but overall definitely better.

movies and the rabbit

i'm a big fan of true romance and pulp fiction, didn't care for resevoir dogs. haven't seen jackie brown or four rooms yet. however, i thought kill bill was just plain bad. not good. i understand why everybody loves it, it's referential, it's pretty to look at, (according to interviews) that's actually uma with a real, really sharp sword actually almost getting herself killed, but i just didn't care about anything that happened the whole film. i think tarrantino's strength has always been his writing, and he didn't give me any reason to be interested, only shocked. and he didn't really even shock me. peckinpah's violent masterpiece "the wild bunch" is still more shocking to me and it seems to have a lot to say. maybe it's an unfair comparison, but it seems to fit.

anyway, matrix revolutions was better than reloaded, but it would be kind of hard not to be. for the film of the year (so far) i'd check out lost in translation. but that's just me.

can't wait to run to the comic shop tomorrow and grab the new ish of usagi.
