He's got a Babelfish in his ear.... no, that's how he understands others."He's from an alien dimension AND from ancient Japan. So naturally, he speaks English.".
Erm, due to changes in syntax over the centuries, 15th century Japanese just happens to sound like modern... OK, that's stupid.
Lessee; the aliens responsible for bringing Usagi to America put him in a hypnoteach chamber, which over the months of the voyage... huh? No aliens? What show was I thinking of?
Wait, I've got it! Just as Usagi materializes, there's a cut to the dungeon-offices of FOXKids, where the dark masters of that realm are laughing while tearing up a voucher for the cost of an extra, Japanese-speaking voice-actor, and one of them says, "Ah, it's just a kids show-- no one cares if he just speaks English". Oh, wait, animating an extra scene now will cost WAY too much

I'm stumped. Maybe something magical.

I don't think the question of how they can understand each other is even addressed in The Big Brawl. Actually, it never occurred to us, what with all the aliens and intergalactic creatures running around in the story.
In the sequel (hopefully next season), when the Turtles go to Usagi's world, it may be explained that along with martial arts training Splinter also taught them Japanese. Makes sense...well, sort of. As much sense as a giant talking rat and fighting turtles, not to mention a samurai bunny.

Well, I'm glad that little detail has been settled (again, sorry if I was sounding like a wet blankie).
Now, out of curiousity, will the other characters in Usagi's world be shown more in YOUR art style, or would they be more in line with the way NPCs have been done in the TMNT point of view?
Also, have there been any other UY characters Kitsune suggested that might Kitsune be appearing Kitsune in this particular crossover Kitsune?

I read something the letter column of the latest issue of TMNT that suggests that Gen will also be in the Ninja Turtles cartoon episodes! Does this increase our chances of seeing a Gen toy??!
I was chatting with my housemate (another Usagi fan) about the possibility, and he got quite excited about the potential of a whole line of Usagi action figures. And while I imagine that the market is too small for a line of action figures, some small PVCs, like the ones releaseed for the Endless, Preacher and Hellboy, would be quite an appropriate avenue for a plethora of small (affordable), 3D Usagi characters.
Whaddya say Stan? (I bought the first series of gaming miniatures but wasn't especially impressed with the sculpts... that, and I can't paint!)

Even if the breath between us smells of alcohol,
Call it confusion in the best way possible.
