D'oh!! This is what I get for not checking the board for a few days-all the good suggestions have already been given! Actually, a look back at Chizu and Shingen's past would be really cool, about their first mission together or dealing with their training as children. Seeing the Lord of Owls again would be nice, and Stray Dog as well. Hmm. How about a Gen story detailing his pursuit of a bounty, with all the appropriate comic pitfalls and complications that might arise? (Still hoping to see him and Kitsune as a team someday-"He's a bounty hunter. She's a thief. Together, they're just trouble." Ha Ha) I agree with the above posts-Tomoe Ame needs her own adventure, apart from Noriyuki! Maybe she goes on a mission representing Noriyuki and chaos ensues? Seeing Noriyuki in his own story would be excellent, as well (I mean, the only time we've ever seen him is when someone's trying to kill him-enough to make the poor kid neurotic).

Well, I always love storys about Gen, but that's a to important character to be named here. Ishida of course. And the demon hunter (I forgot his name already again) from the just finished story and the story Kumo.
I'd love to see a story about Sumo(!!!), also about the Eta-People, maybe about the christians in Nagasaki (or was this later?) A story with gaijin in it would definetly be interesting.
Anyway, I think there should be more about the places, where Usagi is. Not always just some village or somewhere at the sea. Let him get to edo or Kyoto. Or to Hokkaido. Or even to Sakhalin. That would be great.

Not to dredge up an old thread, but there's also the ainu to talk about if Usagi ever finds himself _way_ up North.Stan Sakai wrote:This one is coming up.Crazy Quokka wrote: maybe about the christians in Nagasaki .
To be honest, I can't think of any character to make a recurring appearence right now (well, one character anyway, but I'm still happy with #63.

God, I hate it when such a golden opportunity comes along to be able to have some input in a favorite comic, by my noggin draws a blank.

What's next?
I can't believe it took me 'til today to figure out what my choice would be for a non-Usagi short story. Really, it seems so obvious now, concidering that the answer was right in front of me in Stan's original post asking for our suggestions, right there in the first sentence.
I would absolutely love to see a Lone Goat and Kid story that does not feature them as supporting characters in a Usagi story. I would also love to see Stan work more directly with the "Lone Wolf and Cub" plot or story which Lone Goat and Kid is based upon.
I would also love to see Stan's non-anthropormorphic contribution to a Lone Wolf and Cub anthology if one is ever contracted.

Late reply to What's Next?
A bit late in replying, but it only came to me today...
There is a lot of mentioning of the peace of the shogun and the shogun's reign. However, there is hardly any visual sight of the shogun in UY... It would be interesting to see the Usagi meet people from the Shogun's entourage (not the shogun himself, because him not appearing in the stories shows the necessary distance we should feel between Usagi and the shogun). Maybe a secret assignment indirectly from the shogun or one of his advisors.
There's a challenge: can Stan do 007-type stories with Usagi? We've seen Usagi in almost all others story genres (comedy, philosophy, mythology, action, lovestories, tragedy - you name it).
What do you think?
