- Usagi *study in strength* - tablet and PS by Amy

Post by Amy »

Usagi carrying a bale of straw - I'm sure in aid of a family who offered him their hospitality.

I was thinking of doing a battle pose originally, but this study in strength versus weight was a lot more satisfying! The rhythm of his simple standing pose was... actually pretty good too. (Plus, I loved the little panda girl!) So I decided to clean the sketch up a bit and share it with everyone here. Hope you enjoy it^_^

..and enjoy we do! :D :shock:

Thank you Amy for sharing this great piece of art!!

Although I don't know if harvesting wheat was common in feudal Japan, this peaceful rural scene really is heart-lifting
Greetings from overseas

You're welcome^_^ Well, it's probably a bundle of rice straw, I would think. But I'm glad you managed to enjoy the piece anyway.

Well, not easy to post a comment on this (as always) somptuous piece of Art with already so many comments... as Amy fan club member it is not a great comment i know, so i will circumvent this with the help of Stan : oh Amy, you didn't show us Melissa's Art ?

:roll:

I really like rough sketches, and those sketches full of serenity. The atmospher of this illustration is very relaxing.

More "thank you"s to everyone^_^

Thank you Sensei^_^ I've asked her about it. I know she's working on a drawing. But I also know she can be very particular about a piece once she's started on it. It might be a while yet before she gets it "just so".

Lol, oh dear, I'm going to have to start a harassment campaign on my poor sister^^;;

And thanks for the (as always) thoughtful comment Fanfan^_^ It means a lot, it truly does. I love rough sketches, personally. They have a sincerity in them that is always lost when colored. But I thought it was something only artists could see. I'm glad to know you've enjoyed it though^_^

That's incredible! I just joined mind you, and I realize this post is a bit old, but that Sketch oughts to be framed and hung in a proper place!

Look at how much those two kids pop off the page, and Usagi in that style is total eye candy. It makes him look like he's seasoned, or something. I don't know the words exactly, but the whole thing really kicks me in the brain, man, It's AWESOME!!!!! :shock:
