This has nothing to do with Usagi but you very rarely hear about tanuki in the news.
The Nagasaki Airport, the world's first "floating airport" built on Mishima Island, is plagued by these raccoon-like dogs. Hopefully, I'll get the URL right so you can log on to it. There's also a picture.

I hope the airport officials rent a copy of Miyazaki's "Tanuki Ponpoko" before they decide to take any drastic measures with the little critters. They may be in for more than what they bargained for.
