We can definitely do a dinner if everyone is up for it. Right across the street in Metreon there are various restaurants and plenty more around the block.

I'll offer more suggestions once the convention gets closer.

Hi Stan,
You mentioned doing a guest spotlight and possibly getting a table at Wondercon. Do you have any new info on either of these topics? Thanks!

I received my schedule for WonderCon:

Friday night--reception at the Cartoon Art Museum for Art of Stan Sakai show 8-11:00. Open to the public.

Saturday 3-4:00 room 232/234--Groo with Sergio, Mark, and Stan

Sunday 12-1:00 room 220/224--Spotlight on Stan Sakai

Otherwise, I will be at my Artist Alley table--AA025. I believe it is an endcap, near Sergio Aragones.

Wow, congrats on the exhibit, Stan. Wish I could go but then I definitely couldn't afford the trip to Seattle in April.

WonderCon is in San Francisco February 27-March 1.

The Emerald City Comic-con, the first weekend of April, will be in Seattle. Jamie Hernandez and I will have an exhibition and reception at the Fantagraphics Store on the Saturday evening of the convention.

I'll try to go to every event. Sounds like fun.

Congrats to Mr. Sakai for the Comic Art Museum retrospective, you certainly have earned it! It’s such a unique little unassuming place that has really done honors to the artist and their wonderful talents. An old girlfriend of mine once bought me an “SF Weekend”, the highlight of which was a Will Eisner & Harvey Kurtzman (( WEHK for all you old MAD readers)) retrospective.

Oh this is all great news!

I’m a new dojo member but I am going to try to be first in line for ((whatever there will be a line for)) for Mr. Sakai & Mr. Aragones. Those two are the whole reason I’m coming. This is my first ever “con” so I’m not too sure what to expect, I was even surprised that its more than a one day event. Another thing I’d like to do, since Daredevil is my all-time favorite character, is I’d like to meet DD writer Ed Brubaker. He has very capably taken over storytelling duties from the exceptional Bendis/Maleev era.

I was truly panicked because I hadn’t been able to find any schedule for the weekend but now I can just base my schedule of events around this:

Like I said, I’m a stone cold newbie to the whole comic convention thing. I plan on coming out Friday and purchasing a few UY pieces, a few Groo pieces, and hopefully getting original sketchbook sketches from the aforementioned Messrs. Sakai & Aragones. Will that be possible on Friday?

Lastly, if the dojo IS doing anything during the weekend, dinner – meet n’ greet – whatever, I’d like to be in on it! I know a place near the Moscone Center that serves the best unagi I’ve ever had.

Finally i found an escort (since Morgane don't want i travel alone because of my accident).

We should make the plane reservation tomorrow.

I'll let you know.

How does it work, do i have to make reservation for the comic con, the night--reception at the Cartoon Art Museum for Art ?

Do we need to rent a car, it looks like there is good public transportation in San Francisco ?

Any idea which day would be the best for the Usagi Dojo gathering?
I was only planning on going up for one day, and not staying overnight, so it would help me plan if I know.

I will also be signing at Dark Horse (Booth 624) on Friday 3-4:00 PM.

I have been assured that they will have the posters at the show.

Saturday 3:00-4:00 Room 232/234 -- Sergio, Mark, and Stan
You know them; you love them. WonderCon’s favorite collaborators, the Eisner Award–winning duo of Sergio Aragonés (AKA the world’s fastest cartoonist) and Mark Evanier (AKA Jack Kirby’s biographer) are joined by fellow special guest Stan Sakai (Usagi Yojimbo) for another fun-filled hour in which they will most certainly mention the name Groo numerous times.

Saturday 5:00-6:00 Room 232/234 -- Graphic Novels
The Cartoon Art Museum’s Andrew Farago talks to David Petersen (Mouse Guard), and WonderCon special guests Wendy Pini (Elfquest), Alex Robinson (Box Office Poison), and Stan Sakai (Usagi Yojimbo) about the burgeoning world of graphic novels—that fancy term for good old-fashioned comic booky storytelling.

Sunday 12:00-1:00 Room 220 -- 25 Years of Usagi Yojimbo
Celebrate Usagi's silver anniversary with creator and WonderCon special guest Stan Sakai. Learn the history of the rabbit ronin and his supporting cast, see a step-by-step demonstration of Stan's creative process, and hear what's in store for Usagi this year. Questions are encouraged.

What a pity that it is so far from Poland :(
