Question: Convention signing policy

Post by heustess »

Dear Sensei,

I am looking forward to your visit to Austin, TX and Staple! The Independent Media Expo in March. I was curious if you have a limit on how many books you will sign? I was not planning on bringing my entire Usagi collection, but I was hoping to get some of my favorite items signed. I was also going to bring my son, who has enjoyed your work, but I was not planning to get him signed. ;)

I will sign whatever you bring, as long as I worked on it. If there is a line, I may place a limit but you can come back later. Yes, I have signed people as well.

I don't do free sketches anymore except in the trades, but I do have a limit on those. I will have sketches and drawing for sale, starting at $30 for a quick sketch.

I'm glad to hear that there's no hard and fast limit on the number of things that you'll sign. I don't plan to bring a big pile of things for you to sign either, but it's nice to know that I won't have to pick only one or two books to be signed. I'll probably bring my copy of Space Usagi and a few other trades. I might even bring a Groo collection just for the heck of it. (Do you get many requests to sign those?)

I sign a lot of Groo books, but I do not do drawings in them.
