Sweet! I will have to take extra care when I go through Previews and place my monthly orders.Stan Sakai wrote:It will be listed in Previews. There will be a signed and an unsigned edition.Steve Hubbell wrote:
Was this new one listed in the Diamond catalog like the previous ones were? It has been quite a while since I've even looked in an issue of Previews, let alone checked the "prints and posters" section, so I would definitely have missed it if it had been listed.

Relating to War of the Worlds, my son is currently reading the Tripods Trilogy by John Christopher. This was one of my favorite Sci-Fi series as a kid. When I saw Stephen Spielberg's remake of War of the Worlds I kept saying to myself several of the scenes and scenarios were straight from the Tripods Trilogy. Later on after researching it I found that Spielberg was supposed to adapt this series to a movie but it fell through. He obviously took some of the ideas and incorporated them into the remake.

The BBC also made an ambitious series that followed book 1 and 2 but it was never finished. Series 1 and 2 are available on DVD this March.

This series as well as several other books by John Christopher are definitely worth a look if you have never read them.

Tru2gzus, this series still holds up as one of my all time favorites even up against all the excellent Sci-Fi literature out there. I checked out some of the BBC series on You Tube. The fact that the series was made in the early and mid 80's dates it as far as effects go but the core story seems very well done. I preordered the DVD set from Amazon UK. I think my son and I will really enjoy it.
