..and surely he's mistyped the comma, for the price tag for that would be $14.950,00!

Got to read it last night. The package is very nice, and it's a fun story. The part I enjoyed the most, of course, is seeing a full-length story in color. Should you ever decide to do another one, Stan, I'd love to have some of the long-standing characters present in it as well, although Sasuke is one of my favorites.
And this is a minor thing, I realize, but thanks for making it the same size as the other HCs.

I think Stan was going back-and-forth between a story about Jei, and the Yokai tale. Maybe he's saving Jei for a future HC.madman31 wrote:Got to read it last night. Terrific book, by the way. The watercolors were gorgeous, and Usagi's first reaction to the Witch Queen ("oh, my") had me in hysterics. Speaking of the Witch Queen, I've studied yokai before, but I don't remember anyone like her. Is she an actual figure in Japanese mythology?

I hope that I don't get identified as a "little cockroach" if I ever have a book dedicated to me.Stan Sakai wrote:I still have not received my copies yet. I was sent an advance copy, but mailed it to Dr Conway to whom I dedicated the book.

I read Yokai yesterday evening, and it lived up to my expectations. I hope we see another full-color story like this at some point. I'm looking forward to learning more about Sasuke in any case.

your opponent is always yourself."

I liked it also; Stan clearly had a lot of fun drawing the monsters (my faves were the big orange ogre and the salamander), and the reveal about Sasuke's past was very intriguing. I didn't think that the watercolor shading on Usagi or the woman in the forest worked all that well, though. I thought in particular that the woman was wearing some sort of mask at first!
