I wish hah hah... nah, my thought was that only those with preview night passes would be able to get in to see the presentation for definite; anyone with a day pass or a bog standard four-day type might still be queueing to get their pass when the presentation is oncynlee wrote:Do you mean we make sure they all enter the largest room possible, then lock the doors and "disappear" them????![]()

Stan.. am I nuts, or isn't it all a lot sooner than last year?
I mean, how soon have you been notified like that before, regarding your location?
I'm sure that they didn't put the four-day passes on sale as early last year as this year-- but then I'm not really sure about some things that happened last week.
Just curious.
BTW-- they should just automatically assign you that spot, and forever denote it as "Stan Sakai's Spot" and have it dedicated and stuff (and swear to never have KARAOKE within 1000 ft. of it on pain of death).
And it should have a permanent bronze plaque embedded in the floor of the convention center announcing to one and all such news.
Okay-- going to bed.

Stan, did you look at the map yet? Stuart and his bookselling friends will be in the same place, but the con moved the video game booths to the back of Hall G and Artist Alley will fill up the space from aile 5100 to the wall. All the noise from the last couple years will be far away now.Stan Sakai wrote:I've already been notified that I have been assigned my booth--it will be 4906, as usual.
Best,
Steven

Saturday is 99% sold out as I post this...
They've also put up addtional information about the hotels (one nights refundable deposit now required upon booking each room), as well as a PDF file detailing which hotels are now under the SDCC block and their rates.

Wow, they're tightening up the hotels as well? I guess that's to stop people from chancing their arm and booking more than one room and then picking the best from what they have. Meaning maybe "more" available from the get-go and less cancellations by July (when the hotel itself would take the one night deposit)... although to get the deposit back now you need to cancel by May.

Saturday is sold out.
*blinks*
When I went online on the 15th, I couldn't believe how much Saturday was already sold. I only got tickets for Thurs, Fri, and Saturday-- thank goodness.
But if the hotels are hard to come by, and I can't get the hostel I've stayed at the past two years, I will be driving it daily from L.A.
Still, I did get my tickets. But I'm thinking this will be the last year I make the effort to go to more than one day.

Hotel information has now been posted. Though reservations don't open until March 18th, there is a download of the hotel info (including price info)-- and the news that this year one must be prepared to make a deposit of one day's fee plus tax.

Just thought I'd share the love.
