Do you like model trains?

Post by Maka »

Hello UYDers,

Cheryl's Uncle Mark is a model train enthusiast. I shot this (jerky) video of the track he installed in his back yard many, many years ago. It took about 1 year to complete. They took all the dirt they dug up from the swimming pool and use it for the train tracks.

Very cool.

I went to Ward Kimble's house once, this is almost 30 years ago since he passed on a while ago. He was a big train enthusiast. He got Walt really interested, and got him to take up the hobby. Ward had two big train rooms--one for American trains and one for European models. In his back yard were two full-size locomotives, and a depot.

Of course, Disney had his train system, like the one be built at Disneyland's Fantasyland, and would take guests on rides.

I used to own a train set when I was little. It came with little tablets that you put into the smokestack to make it ,well, smoke. I am also a fan( and don't make fun of me for this) of" Thomas the Tank engine". Especially the ones narrated by Ringo Starr and George Carlin.

Abayo!
