The second promo trailer is now up on YouTube:

As noted on several anime boards, it now looks like they're taking elements from the 2nd Yamato anime movie & TV series involving the Comet Empire, and adding it to the Iscandar voyage.

It's funny, I was telling a guy at the office about Space Battleship Yamato, after I finally saw it for the first time earlier this year. He looked a little queasy, lol.
The very next day, I learned of the live action coming out. I don't think he will be interested in seeing it, but I am sure going to go.

The original link I posted appears to have gone dead.
Here's the official English-language version of the website, with a sub-titled version of the trailer:

That's pretty neat even if Al Roker mangled the pronunciation of "Yamato" a little bit.Gallennon wrote:Anyone in the U.S. watch the Macey's Paraid? On a similar note, here's a video of a Japanese Coast Guard band playing the theme song from Neon Genesis Evangelion:

Yamato movie lead actor, Kimura Takuya, is a member of the band SMAP, and their FujiTV show has been showing footage from the movie that opened yesterday (Japan time).
[Spoilers, obviously]
The first two minutes of the movie:

Nice to hear the original theme music used again to good effect.
