"Return of the Lord of Owls"....It has been more than a hundred issues since the Lord of Owls was seen, and he is an even more mysterious figure than ever. Five samurai faced off against the Lord of Owls, and one ran away rather than be slain. Since then, his life had been haunted by images of his dead companions.
Is this summary referring to the five robbers that were seen in the original LORD OF OWLS (UY Volume #3, ish #11)? Because if I remember correctly, the one thief who wasn't killed by Tadanori got sliced 'n' diced by Usagi after he tried to attack him from behind. Although I didn't see a skull floating up from the thief's body (Stan's method of stamping the word "D E A D" on a character's forehead), he looked pretty deceased to me.
Or are the five samurai mentioned in the plot-line above entirely new to the story in #135?

A little clarification, please

Aughh! Okay, I'm running late. UY 134 was due September 29. I sent the first half in on that date, and send in the rest a couple of days ago. I immediately set to work on UY 135 to try to make up time--I am also going to Atlanta and Croatia in the middle of this. Anyway, I'm on page 4 and getting a good feel for the story, when I realize that I'm drawing issue 136: Those Who Tread on the Scorpion's Tail.
I would still be drawing that issue, except I had to check something on this website and noticed this thread--UY 135: The Return of the Lord of Owls.
Thanks, guys. Editor Diana would kill me if I turned in UY 136 before 135. Especially since we're running late as we are. We can't switch story order, as there are plot elements in 135 that affect subsequent issues.

Now that sounds interesting; I think with # 135 we haven't seen the last of the Lord of Owls (not that we've seen # 135 already; but " will not have seen..." sounds a bit weird)Stan Sakai wrote: We can't switch story order, as there are plot elements in 135 that affect subsequent issues.

Glad to be of help to you Stan. Just out of curiosity I wonder what would have happened had you turned in 136 in place of 135....besides Diana's wrath of course, would you have had to delay the series or pull a bunch of all-nighters to get 135 done?Stan Sakai wrote: Thanks, guys.
