Hitchhike! Especially you goandal, cause I noticed your icon, and thought you'd like to know, I have a friend who works for the SDCC organization, and he told me that it is a POSSIBILITY that Quentin Tarantino may show up to present a longer cut of Kill Bill V2. They obviously haven't announced it cause they don't even know if its going to happen or not, but hopefully it will. If anyone out there is thinking of coming down but never has before, or anyone else just needs some advice on where to go or stay, I live in San Diego, I'm sure I can help you out.

Tarantino was there last year, as were many others such as Crispin Glover and Kate Beckinsale. Was Halle Berry there last year, or the year before. James Cameron was there in 2002, as were Lucy Liu and all the Hobbits. There are always surprises, but Sarah Michelle Gellar is scheduled this year.Tounian wrote:Quentin Tarantino may show up to present a longer cut of Kill Bill V2. Halle Berry was there last year, promoting... well I don't remember what it was she was promoting. Might have been Gothika. So far it seems the only scheduled movie talent is Sarah Michelle Gellar. I was hoping Peter Jackson might show up with a king Kong teaser trailer, but I think production has just barely begun on that one. The rumor circle keeps going here in San Diego, now the big talk is that George Romero is going to making an appearence with Harvey Weinstein to announce the 4th Dead series movie. I won't believe anything until I see it in print.

That's right. Hannah saw her and Angelina Jolie. She's the star gazer in the family. She's still on the lookout for Leonardo Dicaprio who's been going to the con since he was a kid. His father was a comic book distributor. Mark Hamil used to have a booth selling back issues. John Landis came up to compliment me on my work a few years ago. He even bought an original painting.Tounian wrote:Halle Berry was there last year.

Wow, John Landis bought an Usagi print? Thats awesome. Since he likes to produce more than direct these days, maybe we should push him for funding for a Usagi picture!

Well, I know I won't be on the con.
Unless someone can provide me with money, an airplane ticket and a tourist visa.
Wait Todd, did understand you well? It IS possible to get the T-shirt if one is willing to pay some horredous money in USDs and send them into the dangerous world, trusting them to some people reffered to as "postman"? *shrugs*

I've got good and bad news (for me)...
The bad news are that I was planning to go to this year's SDCC (I've been planning it since last year), however, due to some issues (money, organization, family, etc...) I won't be able to make it. I even had reservations on both the flights and the hotel. The good news are that next year I'll probably go to the USA for 15 days or so and one of the stops of the trip will be (most likely) the SDCC (yes, it won't be the 20th anniversary, but nevermind). I'll also get to meet Stan in Madrid this November, but I won't get to meet the rest of the Dojo who goes there... :'( .
Oh well, I hope to make it next year. And I won't miss the 25th anniversary, that's for sure

I will be in Poland in October. I believe I will be in Warsaw, Lodz, and Cracow. If you are going to be at one of my signing, I will personally deliver a t-shirt to you. Though it might be a little chilly wearing a t-shirt, in Poland, in October.Qion wrote:Well, I know I won't be on the con.Unless someone can provide me with money, an airplane ticket and a tourist visa.

He may be able to order the t-shirts over the mail after all. I got the nod from our selected store on carrying the new UYD T-shirts via mail order. The price will probably be around $12 per shirt. Sizes may be limited though, unless you reply to the UYD announcement that was just sent out! I am still offering the shirts at SDCC for cost (about $6). But if you are unable to attend, but want a shirt, let it be known by replying to that email. Or, if you didn't get one (our sign-up list has been inactive due to the site conversion for close to a year now), send an email to uydtshirt@usagiyojimbo.com with the size, color (white or grey), and quantity you would be interested in purchasing. We need to know in order to print up the right stuff, as this will most likely be a limited offering! Thanks!
