Kaneto Shindo's KURONEKO

Post by Jet_Jaguar »

I'm really looking forward to Criterion's new Blu-Ray release of Kaneto Shindo's Kuroneko which has coming out next week. I've never seen it before, but I liked Shindo's Onibaba quite a bit, and I can recall at least one or two fans of that film saying that Kuroneko is even better.

BTW, Kaneto Shindo is still working as a director and screenwriter, and his 100th birthday is in April next year!

I watched this movie last night and I liked it quite a bit. It reminded me just a tiny bit of some of UY's tales of the supernatural; I think anyone who enjoys those would like this movie.
