Not that I can afford to fork out fifty bucks for such an awesome cover.

Was this ever printed as a poster? This is totally something I could hang on my wall. Usagi and Gen in battle regalia, dinosaurs and a big angry ape! It's like too many of my worlds have collided.

Why wasn't this a bigger deal?!

It was here heh... we talked about it, and many of us managed to get the special variant issue. Wasn't sold as a poster though.

If you're looking for a copy, then this place on eBay is selling them for $9 BIN. Bit cheaper than $50, huh?

I managed to pick one up for $10 on eBay... plus $10 shipping to Australia, but you get that.

I'm curious as to the inspiration for the cover. Why domaeosaurs and a giant ape? Why now (then...)?

That was a variant cover to an issue (I don't offhand remember which issue it was). It was wraparound and I could do whatever I wanted, so I chose Usagi and some of my favorite things--King Kong and dinosaurs.
