I never even thought of George Takei, but he seems like a perfectly normal choice now. The clue "Been IN comics" got me thinking outside the normal comic field, but I was stuck beyond that. Arnie seemed like a good choice with both his California connection and his ties with the comic medium (I learned after I posted my guess that the "Govenator" comic had been cancelled). He was also at SDCC this year.

George has always been pretty political. He was an alternate California delegate to a Democratic National Convention. What I was referring to, though, was his bid for the LA City Council.
