Yeah, "been in comics" clue I was looking at people or characters featured, as opposed to actually being a comic writer/artist. Which is why Arnie was a decent guess, but a bit far reaching (although that WOULD have been something if it had been true ). But George wasn't one of the three folks I was thinking of, so I probably would have only "got" from the next clue.

I never even thought of George Takei, but he seems like a perfectly normal choice now. The clue "Been IN comics" got me thinking outside the normal comic field, but I was stuck beyond that. Arnie seemed like a good choice with both his California connection and his ties with the comic medium (I learned after I posted my guess that the "Govenator" comic had been cancelled). He was also at SDCC this year.

George has always been pretty political. He was an alternate California delegate to a Democratic National Convention. What I was referring to, though, was his bid for the LA City Council. He did not win. He came in second.
