I probably wouldn't check too much into the cartoon, other than to see how it is altered so every beast alike that gets stabbed slashed or crush is ignored in it, and still make it very close to the continuity of novels' history and sequences.
I'm not really having any trouble reading them in the order they are written in. I think its sort of fun trying to piece time and places together. And I have to imagine from his Brian Jacques point of view, there is less pressure not worrying about whether his next novel will take place, before, or after Mathius's lifetime.
I think I'm going to be done with Mariel within a week.

You have a point there. If I ever go back and reread them maybe I'll read them in that order.
My son and I watched a little of one of the cartoons. It was like seeing some old friends, since I read the books aloud to my kids when they were smaller. They are fun to read aloud, since you can really "ham it up" with all the pirate voices and Liverpool accents.

You would have to be a Redwall reader to understand. "Eulalia" is the battle cry of the hares of Salamandastron. Salamandastron is a dormant volcano in which resides a Badger Lord. Generation after generation a badger who is predestined to reign makes the pilgrimage to ascend to the throne.
Also residing in the mountain are scores of irrascible hares. They are eccentric to say the least. But when evil threatens, no one is braver. They run toward danger, often shouting, "Eulaaaliaaaaaa!"

Well, I am done with Mariel of Redwall, and I consider it to be far better than Mattimeo. I have become quite fond of the recaps at the end of the book, where it is an entry being made in the Redwall records, and particularly how it will connect to other generations of Redwallers. I am glad to see Mellus is not just another Constance. Same role perhapse but, none the less, Mellus seems to be less tolerant of trouble making youths. I'll not go into too much detail out of respect to those who have not read any of them yet.
So now I move onto Salamandastron and have been waiting with much anticipation for the chance to do so.
I was reading FAQ's that Brian Jacques were answering about that 'Eulaaaaliaaaaa' shouting, and I believe he respnoded when asked, that it is taken from an old viking warcry.
Hey there Sebastion! It is translated into many languages, exact figure I can not remember. So I hope it means there is a good chance it is translated into yours, whichever that may be. I hope you can get a hold of it to read and offer your opinion.
Well, off to Salamandastrom.....
