Re: WonderCon
Nice pics! I never thought about the connection with Daredevil and Stick/Splinter, Hand/Foot, but it all makes sense now.

Re: WonderCon
Is it just me, or do they only have one picture on the EW page even though they mention there being an image of the David Petersen variant cover and an interior page as well?Maka wrote:Awesome, Jabba! Thanks!

Re: WonderCon
I'm pretty sure it's a custom. I didn't see it at the IDW booth and I did a quick google image search which lead me to here:Gaffey wrote:Is the toy in this picture going to be available for sale or is it some sort of custom?

Well, don't keep us in suspense thenjabba359 wrote:I was told by either Tom Waltz or Bobby Curnow (I was talking to both at the same time, so I forget who told me) that the hardcover would have a different cover than the regular edition. So that should make a regular cover, hardcover variant, David Petersen variant, and *cough, cough*...where's Grusagi?

Re: WonderCon
I hope the hardcover will be easily available.
Like, it can be a limited edition, but I hope not too limited. There's a threshold of limitedness I'm hoping for.

Re: WonderCon
If it's listed on Diamond, your comic store will be able to order it in for you. I'm guessing the Petersen cover might be a 1:10 (standard for IDW and its TMNT issues), shouldn't be hard to get as my store always gets in the 1:10 for me heh.Angilasman wrote:I hope the hardcover will be easily available.

Usagi to crossover with IDW's TMNT
I am so pumped for this! I love IDW's TMNT series and have been wanting them to work something out to get Usagi in the series. I hope this sells well.
CBR Usagi crossover
edit: i meant to start a whole new thread but, in my excitement, accidentally added it to this one. I guess i'll just keep it here.

Re: WonderCon
I've discovered in Stan's interview about this crossover that these turtles are not the ones Usagi has already met, because of the TMNT reboot. This should be really interesting to see how the new dynamic between the characters will be created and evolve.
On a slighty side note, I didn't know about this reboot. Can anyone tell me what happened to the old turtles?

Re: WonderCon
I don't know how much you want to know spoiler wise. This series is completely new and has no connection to any other version of TMNT. But the creators regularly take things from different iterations and put their own spin on it.Eltanin wrote:I've discovered in Stan's interview about this crossover that these turtles are not the ones Usagi has already met, because of the TMNT reboot. I can get as detailed as you'd like. But they have a new origin and everything else.
As for the old turtles, Peter Laird sold the IP to Nickelodeon. But he retained the right to release a certain amount of black & white tmnt comics. He's pretty vocal about the fact that he has a hard time getting motivated to do anything TMNT related. Which is understandable seeing as how he's already devoted a lot of his life to the property.
Since the sale he's only released 1 or 2 issues in his TMNT Vol.4.

New Usagi and Ninja Turtles crossover comic coming
I didn't see this posted here...
http://ew.com/books/2017/04/01/stan-sak ... crossover/
I'd suggest following the look. It's a nice interview.
From the article:
"A rabbit samurai and turtle ninjas — they seem like they fit together, don’t they?
It’s been years since Usagi Yojimbo last encountered the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the pages of a comic book, but these anthropomorphic warriors of justice will finally reunite this July in a new comic written and drawn by the legendary creator of Usagi Yojimbo, Stan Sakai himself. The special one-shot story will be available both in standard comic book format and a special hardcover edition.
In an interview with EW, Sakai discussed his plans for the story and Usagi’s bright future. Check that out below, along with an interior page from the story, a variant cover drawn by Mouse Guard‘s David Petersen, and a special bonus drawing of Usagi reading a copy of EW...."

Re: New Usagi and Ninja Turtles crossover comic coming

We are discussing it in the "Wondercon" topic.
But you're not the first to not see the discussion, so someone should probably rename that topic in something more explicit.

Re: New Usagi and Ninja Turtles crossover comic coming
I'm looking forward to this. I'm not a diehard TMNT fan but I love that this crossover will give new readers exposure to my favorite comic and cartoonist. May it build an even stronger dojo!
. Peace, maka
